Mr. Collins is a veteran technology business executive manager with 25 years of electronics product development leadership. Mr. Collins is a founder and the CEO of the Montage Technology Group, a California based technology business incubator and seed stage fund manager. Additionally, Collins is a founder and the CEO of Montage Systems, an electronic product design and sourcing company with presence in California, Hong Kong and China.

Previously Mr. Collins directed Motorola Labs’ DigitalDNA Systems Architecture Laboratory, where he pioneered a technology incubation methodology based on partnerships with start-up companies that were funded by Motorola Ventures. Though this incubation methodology, Collins’ Motorla Labs team was able to develop a wide variety of emerging technologies through commercialization. These products include early CMOS image sensor chips, early digital camera processors, the world’s first camera cell phone and cellular video phone products, and biometric fingerprint reader products for the security marketplace.

Collins is a founder and the Chairman of Montage portfolio company, MediSens Wireless - a wireless medical sensors company. He is also a director of Mediatronics - a speech interactive media-to-the-car company. Mediatronics is today the exclusive supplier of iPOD connectivity products to General Motors.

Mr. Collins has a significant number of U.S. patents issued and pending on electronic systems and computer architecture. Collins received a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from Iowa State University.
